The redesigned 2019 Hyundai Elantra sedan delivers a sophisticated driving experience through advanced Hyundai safety and convenience technologies that offer a variety of advanced active safety and convenience features. These technologies are available as options on the 2019 Elantra and include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Lane Keep Assist. The newly designed 2019 Elantra will be available later this fall.

2019 Updates

There are several noticeable design changes to the 2019 Elantra car including a new hood, front fenders, front fascia, grille and headlights, new trunk, taillights and rear fascia, new 16- and 17-inch wheel designs as well as new 15-inch alloy wheel design on Eco trim and LED headlights on the Limited and Sport trims.

Interior design changes include a new center cluster, new instrument cluster and housing, and AVN/Audio/Temperature controls, among other changes.

Trims and Features

Standard on the 2019 Elantra Essential are heated front seats, air conditioning with manual climate control, a 5-inch color audio system with Bluetooth and steering wheel audio controls.  When purchased with an automatic transmission, cruise control is included.

The Preferred trim adds a heated leather steering wheel, Blind-Spot Collision Warning with Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning, a 7.0” touchscreen with Android Auto and 16” allow wheels.  The Preferred trim with the Sun and Safety package adds proximity keyless entry with push button ignition, hands-free Smart Trunk and door handle lighting, a power tilt-and-slide sunroof, and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist in AT equipped models.

The Luxury trim includes the Sun & Safety Package plus 17” alloy wheels, dial-zone automatic temperature control with auto-defogger, BlueLink, and leather seating surfaces.

The Ultimate builds upon the Luxury by adding an 8.0-inch touchscreen navigation system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, heated rear seat bottoms in the two outboard positions, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection.

Safety and Security (Explained)

Cutting-edge safety features have been added to the 2019 Elantra. Most of these features have been added to the Preferred trim level and above meaning they are now available on the majority of the Elantra lineup, including the following systems:

The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist is designed to help detect and monitor the vehicle ahead and warn the driver if a collision may be imminent. The system also initiates automatic braking when it detects a slower or stopped vehicle ahead.

Lane Keep Assist helps detect the lane on the road and may apply steering wheel control if the vehicle leaves the lane when the vehicle speed is over 65 kph.

Driver Attention Alert that warns the driver of tired driving patterns with an audible alert and visual warning displayed on the instrument cluster.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The Essential trim comes equipped with an AM/FM/MP3 audio system with 6 speakers and a 5.0-inch touchscreen, while the Preferred trim adds a 7.0-inch touch-screen display with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. The Ultimate features an Infinity AM/FM/XM/MP3 audio system with 8 speakers and external amplifier with an 8.0-inch touch-screen navigation system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. All trims feature iPod/USB/auxiliary connectivity and a Bluetooth Hands-free phone system.
